I lead this group of flying fanatics.
Just like with the majority of the guys here, flying fascinated me since I was small. I remember looking at pictures in the notebook of my grandfather, who used to be a soldier at military air bases. I studied at the Slovak University of Technology, where I obtained a bachelor’s degree in transport technology (aircraft construction). I completed my master’s degree at the faculty of low-potential energy.

In 1966, I began my aviation career like many others – flying on gliders, more precisely the L-13 Blaník. I flew gliders such as the L-13, VT-425 (Šohaj), VT16 (Orlík I) and the VT116 (Orlík II). In September 1971 I enrolled in the officer’s flying school at VLU Košice where I started flying training on jet aircraft; firstly the L-29, (Delfín) and in 1973 on the supersonic MiG-21U, MiG-21F. In 1974 I was selected as an instructor on the MiG-21. Over my time in the Czechoslovak Air Force, I went through various positions; flight leader, squadron leader, piloting technique inspector on training and combat jet aircraft, regiment commander, the commanding officer of the Foreign Flight Training Military School of the Slovakian National Uprising.

After the split of Czechoslovakia, I was appointed as the Deputy Commander of the Air Force and the Air Defence Army of the Slovak Republic. From 1994 I was the commander of the 3rd Air Force and Air Defence Corps of the Army of the Slovak Republic. I flew on the L-29, L-39, MiG-21 and MiG-29 until 1999. I flew on cargo aircraft, starting with the L-410 in 1998.

I left the armed forces in 2004 and continued flying on the L-410, Boeing 737-200 and the Boeing 757-200. From 2008 until 2015 I flew on the Boeing 737-800/900. In December 2015 I finished my astounding flying career with 12500 flying hours and over 15000 landings. I still train students on piston aircraft such as the Zlin-42/142, Cessna 150/152/172, Tecnam 2006/2010. In addition to these aircraft I still fly on the L-29 Delfín jet trainer.

Most pilots live their pilots’ dream from the beginning, but this is not the case with me. My interest in aircraft came when I was 15 during a flight from a holiday in Greece, during a large storm. The flight was the ‘craziest roller coaster ride in the world”. When I was in the third year of secondary school I began flying on the Diamond DA20 “Katana” and after obtaining my PPL I began flying on the DA-40, DA-42 and the Cessna 172. Flying not only became my dream, but also my hobby, which is proved by the fact that I stopped my active ice hockey career. At the moment I am in my final year studying Management at the Comenius University in Bratislava and also finishing my ATPL(A). I believe that next year I will start the career of a professional pilot on the Boeing 737 NG, which is also my passion.

I am the brains and the hidden force behind the whole team :) My main responsibilities are communications with our customers and all the duties regarding marketing, promotion and general public relations of the company. I am a graduate of the mechanical engineering faculty of the Slovak Technical University. As far as flying itself is concerned, I don’t know much and never had much of a passion for it, but thanks to our lads, I learned a great deal. I love flying itself (as a passenger, I admire the work of pilots) and enjoy what I do at the company.

I study Aerospace Engineering at the University of Liverpool. At the moment, I am in my final year. Aircraft have interested me since I was a child, initially from the stories of my father who used to be a mechanic on the MiG-21 and the Su-25. I have been using flight simulators for around 10 years, my first one being Microsoft Combat Flight Simulator. At the moment, I mainly fly on P3D, DCS, Il-2 and Condor. My flying experience started in the RAF Air Cadets flying the Grob Tutor and the Grob Vigilant, on which I also have my first solo flight, at 642 VGS, Linton on Ouse. I am also a glider pilot at the Trnava Flying Club where I fly the L-23 Super Blaník. After finishing university, I want to pursue the career of a professional pilot.

Mám 36 rokov a pochádzam z Handlovej.

I am from Žilina and have been interested in aviation after a holiday flight with my parents when I was six years old. Later, I realised that this will be a lifelong love. At secondary school I began on lfight simulators. In the final year, I successfully passed my PPL exams. Currently I fly on the Cessna C152 and C172 aircraft and work to finish my ATPL theory as well as a steward in an airline. I hope that in the near future it will be possible to progress from the cabin to the flight deck.

My name is Ivan, and I worked as a steward for four years. My first base was London Stansted, and, after two years, Milan Bergamo. At work, I had the opportunity to get to the flight deck on a day to day basis and after a certain time I realized, that the job of a pilot is the one my heart desires. I therefore decided to go ahead and pursue my dream. I am a holder of CPL(A), IR(ME), and ATPL theory. I am a big fan of flight simulators, mainly the PMDG 737 NGX.
